MASTER SCUBA DIVER TRAINER (MSDT)

Since Speciality Courses are a natural development of a diver’s interest in diving activities, it is only normal that he/she expects the instructor to teach the course. As an Instructor you will best help divers by offering a variety of courses that enable them to enjoy the adventure under water.

As you learned in the IDC, Speciality Courses are a natural follow-up of the Advanced Open Water Course. The skills you find most applicable and appealing to teach during an Advanced Open Water Course are the topics you want to teach as a Speciality Instructor.

During our MASTER SCUBA DIVER TRAINER course you’ll achieve teaching competency in the following Instructor Speciality Training: UW Navigation, Deep Diving, Fish Identification, Shark Identification, UW Photography and Wreck Diving.

When an instructor starts teaching Speciality skills and knowledge it is important that he/she has experienced what it is like to be a student in order to understand his/her student needs. Remembering how you were taught a certain subject will effect the way you teach that skill in the future. That is why we start our Instructor Speciality courses by familiarising you with the student materials and for a short while you become a student again. You will achieve mastery in the skills and knowledge of the each Speciality Course, which is, especially during the UW Photography course, very enjoyable! When you are a perfect student we’ll help you to become confident as an Instructor by using the teaching materials PADI has developed for you: the Speciality Instructor manuals, outlines and video’s.

The instructor who takes divers on adventure trips and gives them the necessary training to enjoy themselves becomes an integrated part of any well-organised dive centre. Your credentials as a MASTER SCUBA DIVER TRAINER carry a lot of influence when applying for a position as a diving instructor at a PADI 5 Stars IDC Center.
